Aumond Garden Nursery
We sow it,
You grow it....
But lets do it together.
Welcome! Here at Aumond Garden Backyard Nursery, we grow and share healthy seedlings that we’ve successfully grew in our own beds, plus a few new varieties we’re testing in our very own Aumond garden.
Growing in Florida isn’t like growing anywhere else. Our subtropical, humid weather means more fungus, more pests, and more challenges. Our goal is simple: to offer you tried‑and‑true edible varieties that can handle our climate — not the one‑size‑fits‑all seedlings you see at big box stores.
Our Story
Here at Aumond Garden Nursery, we are a family-owned backyard nursery nestled in the heart of West Melbourne, Florida. We are on a mission to bring the rewards of home-grown food and sustainable living to every doorstep in our community and to not feel alone in doing so.
Our journey began with our own family of seven and a simple love for our backyard garden. What started as a personal project to grow fresh produce for our children soon blossomed into a dream of owning a small nursery dedicated to helping other local families grow their own gardens.
We specialize in Florida-friendly seedlings that are hardy and adapted to our unique humid hot climate. By focusing on resilient varieties, it can help you skip the difficult stages of gardening so you can focus on the rewards of the harvest.
Growing Support
We want to make gardening approachable and encouraging for beginners while also offering strong, reliable seedlings for even the experienced gardeners. We believe that with the right plants and a little support, anyone can learn how to grow food.
Aumond Garden Nursery wants your journey to be as rewarding as possible. These foundational practices will help your nursery-fresh seedlings adapt and thrive in your garden.
Sunshine

Hydration
Airflow
Florida sun can be intense. Start your seedlings where they get gentle morning light and filtered afternoon sun, and watch them closely. Most seedlings do best with about 4–8 hours of sun, depending on the variety.
Happy roots mean high yields. Mix organic garden soil with compost and other natural amendments to build a rich, living soil. Worm castings are an amazing boost for seedlings and a great long‑term soil amendment.
Keep the soil moist but not soaked by watering at the base of your seedlings instead of directly on the leaves. In Florida, deep, slow watering is best. It not only reduces stress in the heat, but also encourages roots to grow deeper into the soil.
Give each plant enough space to breathe and grow. Good air circulation lowers humidity and helps prevent pests and fungal problems. Think about the mature size of each plant so it has room to reach its full potential.
Our Seedlings
Aumond Garden Nursery currently follows Florida's climate for growing our seedlings in Early Spring and Florida Fall. Yes, you can grow all year in Florida, however, the pests, weather changes, and fungus pressures give our garden a chance to rest for the next growing season.
Explore our Spring and Fall selections below! Please note: Specific plant varieties will be listed right here as soon as our agriculture inspection is complete. Our buttons below don’t lead anywhere yet, but they will be updated with full details once our varieties are officially approved.
